Silversmiths in Surin, northeastern Thailand use simple tools to create distinctive beads from pure silver. The decorative patterns are hand-etched onto the surface of each bead. This painstaking intricate process, from the centuries-old Khmer Angkor kingdom , survives in only one small community. The focal point of this necklace is a silver etched leaf pendant, which is accented by two strands of freshwater pearls. The claw clasp is accented with silver cylindrical beads with traditional Surin etchings. The necklace is approximately 16 inches long
